Deco style console table

This deco style console table was commissioned by a private client in London. The brief was to create a piece of furniture for the grand entrance hall that would sit comfortable with its surroundings but would also catch your eye as you entered the house. The top of the console table is handmade in a book matched English burr oak surrounded by ebony stringing, English oak and framed with a solid ebony edge. The top is supported by a curved English oak base that is hand formed and jointed into an ebony ingot. The base terminates in an angled English oak base. By the specific selection and hand cutting of the oak the timber fully reveals the beautiful grain through out the piece. The clients enjoy returning to their house as each time they do they notice a different shape and detail within the table.

Neal knew he had fulfilled his brief when the client admitted he can’t stop looking at and touching the piece. It continues to be a talking point every time someone new enters their house.
