Limited Edition (Sold as a pair)A pair of matching bedside cabinets, hand crafted in English walnut with English Sycamore detail and featuring a secret jewellery drawer concealed within the bottom curved frieze.
The door, top and sides are covered in handmade embossed leather, surrounded by solid sycamore beading and cross-banded English walnut. The nickel handles and hinges are also handmade.
The 20th Century furniture designer Andre Arbus is widely credited with reviving the Louis XVI style and advocated a return to tradition, noble materials and fine craftsmanship. These cabinets exemplify Arbus’s vision with clean straight lines and elegantly modernised strong points and features.
The bedside cabinets are hand made in England by master craftsmen, who combine traditional techniques with modern technology and many years of experience in making the finest English furniture. The nickel handles are made at a foundry in England using traditional methods. Moulds for the handles are crafted and then filled with molten brass. Once set, the handles are hand finished and polished to a mirrored nickel finish. The finest quality cowhides are selected and dyed by hand through several processes, and then hand embossed to give a unique pattern and taupe/silver colour.
